Applying For Advertisers

By now we have completed the step 1 in above flowchart and have become a publisher. Commission Junction i.e. CJ.com is the company that will keep complete track of our job. 

Our immediate task is to get the Advertisers (Step 2) for which we can do promotions on the Internet. Just to remind you that we need advertisers as we don’t have any product of our own to promote on the Internet. Rite?

There are hundreds of Merchants in CJ.com interface for which we can do promotion work. You can do work for one merchant or for more than one merchant. It is totally Upto you.

We presume that till now you have made your account on CJ

Procedure for how to Apply for the Advertisers

There are 2-3 options that we can use to apply for advertiser in our CJ publisher Interface. To some, first option can be useful and to rest, the other option. Let see how

 

Procedure 1: Using category option

2. View on You Tube: If the above does not work for you, this one definitely should.

Procedure 2: Using 'Apply All' in my country option...

Text Write up

Click on Select All and then click Apply to Program. A small window will appear that in some cases looks like the one shown below

This window will immediately show us the status of our application. Some will approve, some will straightaway decline and some will keep our approval application on "Pending basis". All the pending applications will be manually reviewed by the respective Advertiser and then will be set to "approved" or "declined". Reason for decline can be anything, like publisher location, whether the publisher is having a website or not, since how long the publisher is working with CJ and a lot many factors. However, the reason is never disclosed. If you want, you can contact and ask the respective Advertiser using the "Mail" option in your CJ Interface.

Another thing that we come across in the above image is one particular Advertiser, "Emirates UK". Below this advertiser there is a "check box". Now this particular advertiser has some more terms in addition to the terms that we accepted while joining CJ. If you wish to apply for these type of advertisers, you will have to click on the link (as marked by arrow in above image) and then accept it's terms. Automatically the tick mark will come in the check box.

Once done you can simply close this window.

You can click on Next and you will get another 25 Advertisers. If you feel you need more advertisers to choose from, you can apply for these also in the same manner. You can continue the process for remaining advertisers also.

5.  Once you are done, visit the home section and scroll at the bottom. You will see a section, "My Advertisers" (as shown in Image 2, Arrow 2). These are the advertisers from which we can take affiliate links and promote the same online.

Once we have applied for all the advertisers, we will have to wait for a couple of days. This is because some Approvals were kept on pending basis (refer image below), to be reviewed manually. In 2-3 days time, we can get some more approvals.
